Abstract
Today, leaders and experts around the world understand that small businesses and entrepreneurs represent a potential solution to certain key issues currently facing global societies: unemployment, slow economic growth, poverty, lack of competitiveness, sustainable development targets, social incoherence, and so on. Thus, entrepreneurship has been attracting increasing attention as a field of study. In this article, we aim to shed more light on the concept of entrepreneurship by presenting ongoing academic efforts to understand the phenomenon. As this is a complex topic with many possible angles, we chose to focus more particularly on the psychological and cognitive dimensions of entrepreneurship.
