Abstract
This is a chapter in a book on the history of the Finish Partek corporation. The focus is on the transformation of the corporation through mergers and acquisitions. It is argued that mergers and acquisitions are often a result of unexpected opportunities or acute threats, that mergers and acquisitions reflect the current values and fashions, and that they are also politicized projects. There are two versions of the book ; one in Finnish and one in Swedish.
