Abstract

This chapter examines learning in mergers and acqusitions. The focus is on four central issues of socio-cultural integration: development and communication of a corporate vision, choice of corporate language, location of headquarters, and cultural training. The authors point out that such learning is inherently context-specific, that it often involves ambiguity, and that the significance attributed to specific learning experiences depends on the dominant coalition
