This paper studies the impact of blockchain-enabled traceability systems on the cascade risk in agricultural supply chains using a game-theoretic approach. Our analysis considers four scenarios based on the adoption of a traceability system and the implementation of quality testing. We find that collectors and sellers can benefit from higher profits with blockchain adoption. However, farmers can benefit from the traceability system by providing lower-quality products if the collector does not take the quality testing.
