Abstract
The article focuses on the introduction of digital broadcasting and higher-definition (HD) signal technology in FM and AM radio broadcasting. HD Radio, represents the next generation of traditional AM and FM radio. By moving to a digital spectrum, a terrestrial radio station gains clarity, efficiency, and functionality. The quality of a digital AM broadcast is markedly improved over analog, almost to the level of an FM station. This lets AM programmers move beyond low-fidelity programming like talk radio and play more music, whereas a digital FM station's sound quality becomes as clear as that of a compact disc. There is also none of the static that usually comes with an analog broadcast.
