Abstract
The authors retrace the recent adventure of the theory of careers. They focus in particular on the interest the new approach to careers has aroused. By refusing to limit careers to organisational careers, this literature promises to bring to light numerous veracities obscured by an excessive focalisation on vertical careers alone. their analysis of recent works devoted to careers shows however that the current orientation of literature and its focalisation on the new careers is not without danger. in fact, it threatens to lead to a new confinement. The authors therefore suggest diverse ways to continue to allow the theory of careers to prgoress.
