Expertise

I am a social scientist specializing in the field of Science and Technology Studies, with a keen interest in policymaking and organizational dynamics. My research focuses on examining the concepts embedded in policies related to science, technology, and innovation (STI) and their dissemination across different countries. I explore how these global concepts are adapted within national contexts and influenced by local strategies and initiatives. Through my work, I demonstrate the complex ways in which global ideas are shaped and co-constructed at the local level. I am particularly intrigued by the structure of advisory groups in STI policymaking and the underlying values that inform policy decisions.

Additionally, I have collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) on evaluating and developing the European child and adolescent health strategy. Leveraging this experience, I have conducted analyses using data from the cross-national Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study, focusing on trends related to bullying, sexual health, and the impact of tobacco control policies on adolescent smoking. I have also written extensively on topics such as collaboration in cross-national research, the participation of children in policymaking processes, and the effects of food insecurity during childhood and adolescence.

Prior to my academic pursuits, I served as a legislative counsel in the US Congress, specializing in financial, housing, and community development policy. I was also honored to be selected as a US Presidential Management Fellow. I hold a Bachelor of Arts and a Master in Public Policy from the University of Chicago (USA), as well as a PhD from the Copenhagen Business School
