Asef's research lies at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and Geographic communities. He is interested in how organizations and innovation shape and are shaped by geographic communities, and in particular, how actors in under-resourced geographic communities overcome structural barriers to generate disproportionate innovative outcomes. He uses large-scale datasets and quantitative methods in his empirical work.
