Expertise
Marion is an interdisciplinary researcher and practitioner with nearly two decades’ experience carrying out teaching and research at the interface between Earth and social sciences, and between research and decision making. She has provided scientific expertise, evidence-based research, and communications material to public and private decision makers in a range of national and international contexts, including the UK Parliament, the French Committee on Climate Change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and different French and international thinktanks. Most recently, she held the role of engagement lead for IF Initiative by Carbone 4, including supporting the implementation of the emlyon - Carbone 4 research and teaching Chair "Strategy in the Anthropocene". She is particularly interested in building dialogues and discussion spaces between disciplines and fields of action and has set up and managed a range of multi-national and trans-disciplinary partnerships and events, such as the Regional Forest Declaration Assessment network in the Congo Basin, the 2025 Alternative Futures workshop at emlyon business school and inter-parliamentary projects in Southeast Asia and North Africa. She holds a PhD in palaeoclimatology, a Masters in Geophysics and a Masters in Science Communication from Imperial College London, and has carried out postdoctoral research at Beijing Normal University.
