Nathalie Clavijo is an Associate Professor of Accounting at emlyon business school. She holds a PhD in Management Sciences. Before joining academia, Nathalie spent ten years working for Saint-Gobain, gaining extensive experience in the corporate sector. This professional background continues to shape her research interests.
Her research is situated within the field of critical accounting studies and focuses on the relationships between accounting, power, inequality, and social change. Drawing on feminist, decolonial, and critical perspectives, she examines how accounting practices contribute to the construction and reproduction of social hierarchies, as well as how alternative forms of accountability can support more equitable and inclusive organizations.
Nathalie has published in internationally recognized journals and regularly presents her work at leading academic conferences. Her current research explores themes such as coloniality and accounting, feminist ethics of care, counter-accounting, labor invisibility, and the social consequences of organizational practices. Through both her scholarship and teaching, she seeks to promote a critical understanding of accounting as a social and political practice.
